Abstract

Background: Emotional situations could affect person’s food intake, especially in this COVID-19 Pandemic. Most people ate in response to negative emotion so that psychological factors were components that needed to be considered as one of the factors that could trigger overweight. Objectives: This study used a cross-sectional design conducted during the COVID 19 pandemic on women aged 18-55 years online. Methods: We used the Emotional Eating Scale (EES) to examine emotional eating status. Nutritional status was measured using Body Mass Index (BMI). Research results: Based on the Chi-Square, the emotioanal eating using EES was not associated with overweight in women. Conclusions: Eating behavior using EES has no relationship with overweight. Recommendations: It was very necessary to increase knowledge ini balanced nutrition for women 18-55 years of age.
