AB - Hyperlipidemia is a fat fraction disorder that often occurs due to elevated levels of total cholesterol, LDL and triglycerides. Coffee is one of the most widely consumed beverages because of its stimulant effects and is associated with a reduced risk of several diseases. Robusta green coffee steeping contains chlorogenic acid which functions as an antioxidant. This study aims to determine the intervention of steeping robusta green coffee on total cholesterol, LDL, and HDL rats induced by a high-fat and fructose diet. This type of research is experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. A total of 27 male white rats, 3-4 month, weighing 200-300 grams, and active movement as research samples. White rats were divided into 3 groups, namely a negative control group (standard diet), a positive control group (a high-fat diet, fructose), and a treatment group (a high-fat diet, fructose, steeped robusta green coffee 6 ml/day). Examination of total cholesterol, LDL, and HDL levels was carried out after 28 days of intervention. Data were analyzed using One Way ANOVA test. There was no significant difference in total cholesterol, LDL, and HDL between the negative control group, positive control group, and treatment group. The intervention of steeping robusta green coffee could not reduce total and LDL cholesterol levels, and did not increase HDL levels rats induced by a high fat and fructose diet.
