AB - High consumption of Ultra-Processed Foods (UPF) worsens the ratio of Triglyceride/High Density Lipoprotein-Cholesterol (TG/HDL) because they contain less good nutrients, such as high sugar and fat. This study aims to determine the correlations between UPF consumption and the TG/HDL ratio in adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is a cross-sectional study conducted in the city of Semarang. The number of subjects as many as 63 adults was taken by purposive sampling technique. Chi-square test and logistic regression were used to analyze the relationship between UPF consumption and the TG/HDL ratio. The results showed that 52.4 percent of subjects had a TG/HDL ratio of 3 (high risk), 55.6 percent of subjects had frequent UPF consumption (≥ 5x per week), and most of the subjects had high UPF calorie and fat intake. 56.3 percent and 51.5 percent, respectively. The results of the analysis showed that there was no significant correlation between frequency, calorie intake, and UPF fat on the TG/HDL ratio (p>0.05). While the logistic regression test showed that male sex had a higher risk of having a TG/HDL ratio ≥ 3 (p: 0.010; OR: 6.791). This study showed a significant relationship between gender and the TG/HDL ratio. However, there was no significant correlation between the frequency, calorie intake, and UPF fat with the TG/HDL ratio. Future research is expected to examine other factors.
